CNN.com - Israel votes to push deeper into Lebanon - Aug 9, 2006: "JERUSALEM (CNN) -- Israel's Security Cabinet recommended Wednesday that the Israeli military expand its campaign against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.



Israeli ground forces are now authorized to push up to the Litani River, 18 miles (29 kilometers) inside Lebanon, in an attempt to eliminate Hezbollah threats."
